Stephen was a tenant farmer (in joint tenancy with the widow O'Connor) in 1827.
They held 10 acres 0 rood and 25 perches of arable land; 20 acres 1 rood and 39 perches of coarse pasture; and 38 acres, 0 rood and 39 perches of bog and mountain in Gortnagappul which is on the north side of the river Sheen and on the left hand side of the old road from Glengarriff (via Esk) to Kenmare.
Stephen died at age 94 after being ill for 4 days. Honora (2nd daughter in law & my great grandmother) was present when he died.
