Stephen Newton lived in Windsor, Conn., the first decade of his married life and had five children born there. The first two of these were baptized in the church at Rutland, Mass. I suppose that some years previous to 1770 he settled in Belchertown, Mass., and probably died there. There was no Stephen Newton, head of a family in the United States in the Census of 1790 [probably living with son Asa]. Nor does he appear in the Probate Court of Worcester County.
