BIOGRAPHY: One of the sons of Stephen Knight (5) wrote:"My fathers house was such a resort for Christians that it was styled the "Pilgrim's Tavern", and long went by that name. The subject of religion was freely discussed both experimental and doctinal, and I Frequently listened attentively to its importance and felt its influence, and was at an early age led to reflect on the character and requirements of my Creator, and my accountability to him, and the solemn importance of a preparation to meet him. 

 "My father Stephen Knight was for many years a Deacon of the Old Baptist Church in Situate amd adorned his profession with an exemplary life. He had a remarkable pleasant and agreeable disposition, beloved by all that knew him".

  A great-granddaughter adds that "his wife was said to have temper enough for both, but she died at age 68, he at 87."
