Stephen Brownell's Will
"To wife Mary household goods given by her uncle John Wilbur in his last will and testament, her right to land in East Greenwich which her mother and sister bought, improvement of great room as long as she is my widow. To son William all that farm in Tiverton called Closson farm, he to have the east end about 22 acres, east of road from George Peckham's to Benjamin Sawdrey's, he to pay to my two daughters Phebe and Mary. To two sons George and Stephen, every part of real estate remaining, with buildings and one half of sixteen acre lot at east end of 24 acre lot lately given me in will of John Wilbur, equally divided. To daughter Edith Earle 20 pounds. To son Stephen my great Bible and gray mare. To daughters Edith and Mary remaining household good. To grandson Ralf Earl, son of William, six pounds. "...born in LC 29 Nov 1726, died in 1785. Residence: LC. He married first in LC 5 Jan 1747 Edith Wilbor, daughter of William and Jane (Crandall) Wilbor, born in LC 22 April 1727, died there 14 March 1766. She is buried in the Old Commons cemetery. He married second in LC 21 Feb 1771 Mary Eldredge, daughter of William Eldredge of North Kingstown. They lived on Maple Avenue at a place called The Elms."
