Stella Giesey

Stella "Tur" Giesey, 86, of Blairsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe. She was born Jan. 21, 1920 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Michelina Tur.
Mrs. Giesey had worked for the Blairsville Police Department. She was a Steeler fan, enjoyed cooking and knitting.
She is survived by a son, Robert and wife Mary, Severn, Md.; a sister, Emily Parsons, McConnellsburg; a niece and nephew; and a cousin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Giesey; two brothers, John and Walter Tur, and a sister, Helen Tur.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Shoemaker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.
Interment will be in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier.
