Stanley was a paratrooper in WWII. He was "gut shot" parachuting into Normandy (?) and returned to friendly lines "carrying his guts in his hands" per Clarence. He married and had children but this was not a happy marriage and he drank heavily. He was injured when he was pushed off the front porch of his wife's home by she or her boyfriend and sustained injury to his head. He lived out his life in American Lake Veteran's Hospital in Tacoma, WA. Was cared for by his sister Irene.
