SOPHIA KLINGENSMITH, d- 14 Nov. 1888 Hempfield Twp., Westmoreland Co.; m- 18 Nov. 1847 Henry Allwine, b- 24 Dec. 1827. An inventory was made of her personal property 7 March 1891. She had a cupboard, a bureau, a sewing machine, bed and bedding, including a bedspread and a sheet, and a glass dish. In addition to having $16.53 in cash on hand, she had six notes with a total of $442.25—one each on E. C. Smail, E. E. Allwine, Samuel Allwine, Levi Allwine, J. L. Allwine, and Fulton Stiffey; by Stiffey's name was written "Doubtful." The final distribution of Sophia's estate occurred on 7 May 1892. After expenditures of $4 for advertising in the Greensburq Press, $2.13 for a clerk, $10 for the fees of an attorney, $5 for administrator, Daniel V. Crowell, and $16 for an auditor were paid, there was $430 left for her heirs. Eight of her nine children received $43 each as did Sophia's husband. The remaining $43 went to Dr. James Wakefield, who was the guardian of Howard Smail, whose mother, Leomia, was deceased.
