Sophia Cox was baptised on 7th July 1805 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, daughter of Catherine Cox, formerly Newborn, and her husband Thomas Cox, a blacksmith.

Sophia was married on 6th April 1830 at Barnack, aged 24, to a butcher called William Andrews. Sophia's father was one of the witnesses to their marriage, but he died a few months later, in August 1830. Sophia's first child was baptised the following month. Sophia's father's will left various cottages in and around Barnack to be split between Sophia, her mother and her two brothers. Sophia's mother was left two houses in Barnack for her lifetime, after which they were to pass to Sophia.

Sophia and William had two children together: a daughter in 1830 and a son in 1833, both baptised at Barnack. The children's baptisms both describe William as being a butcher.

The 1841 census finds Sophia, William, their two children and a servant living in Barnack. William was again described as a butcher. By 1851, William was describing himself as a cottager of 27 acres. Sophia's mother died later in 1851.

Neither of Sophia and William's children married. Their daughter was living with them in each census from 1841 to 1881. Their son moved away from Barnack for a few years, working as a butler in London, but by 1881 he had returned to live with his parents and sister in Barnack.

William died in 1883, aged of 80.

The 1891 census finds Sophia living with her two children in a four roomed house on Main Street in Barnack. Sophia was described as being supported by her son.

Sophia died at the age of 86, being buried at Barnack on 27th May 1892.
