William Andrews was baptised on 20th March 1803 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, son of William and Elizabeth Andrews.

William's next sighting is on 6th April 1830, aged 27, when he married Sophia Cox at Barnack. They went on to have two children together: a daughter in 1830 and a son in 1833, both baptised at Barnack. The children's baptisms both describe William as being a butcher.

The 1841 census finds William, Sophia, their two children and a servant living in Barnack. William was again described as a butcher. By 1851, William was describing himself as a cottager of 27 acres.

Neither of William and Sophia's children married. Their daughter was living with them in each census from 1841 to 1881. Their son moved away from Barnack for a few years, working as a butler in London, but by 1881 he had returned to live with his parents and sister in Barnack.

William died at the age of 80, being buried at Barnack on 15th May 1883. Sophia survived him by nine years.
