 According to 'Fahl-Fall and allied families', Solomon married Hester 'Hettie' Shankland and had 3 children, two of whom died in infancy; and married Mary E. Butler in 1894.  According to 'Robert' database, his obituary states that he shot the last bear killed in Boone Co.  In the 1860 census for Boone Co., Indiana, Solomon Witt is justice of the peace, age 43 from South Carolina.  His wife Hester A. is 47 from Kentucky.  Their daughter Vie is 9, born Indiana.
