Obituary: The Paris News, Thursday, October 17, 1918: Mrs.. Solisia Ownby, the widow of the late Bart Ownby, died at 4:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the house of her niece, Mrs.. Mary Loftin, five miles east of Paris. She had been ill about three weeks with a cold and cough which developed into pneumonia a week before her death. She was born in Tennessee and was 78 years old. She came to Lamar Co over fifty years ago and was married twice, but did not leave any children by either husband. She is survived however, by three brothers and five sisters. One of the brothers live in Amarillo and another in Dallas and two of the sisters live in Dallas and one in Tennessee. The funeral service was held at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and conducted by Rev. M . Brown, and the burial was at Union Grove Cemetery on Lamar Avenue.
