  3.   Peggy Joyce Smith. Caswell County Original Estates 1772-1941.

In September 1833 his heirs filed a petition to partition his property. The Caswell County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions appointed John Keese ,William H. Nunnally, Henry Howard, Elijah J. Withers and Richard Cannon commissioners to divide the land among the heirs with the assistance of the Caswell County Surveyor. The land was divided into 10 parcels of 46.9 acres each and the heirs apparently drew lots for the parcels as follows; 1 Lemuel; 2 Larkin; 3 Obedience Strader; 4 Amos; 5 Henrietta Bastin; 6 Levicy Walker; 7 Levi; 8 Laban; 9 Enoch; 10 George. In the final approval of the division by the court on 31 December 1834, the children of Enoch Ford received his share. A plat map of the partition was included locating the 469 acres on what appears to be a creek called the Ain Branch.
