link In the probate of his half-brother Daniel Allen Inkeeper of Boston 1715-1717, Daniel Allen's children call him "uncle Silence Allen" and accuse him of writing Daniel Allen's will for him the night before he died on his death bed and deceptively reading back the will to hide the fact that he had written his eldest son Daniel Allen out of the will. His half-brother Daniel is said to be unable to read. The son Daniel Allen, mariner of Boston contested the will as did his sisters. Daniel Allen, mariner of Boston married Sarah Gibbins and then Sarah Coker of Newbury, shortly after the marriage to Sarah Coker is the following: Newbury - V1 Page:21: Alin (see also Allen), Daniel, s. "Daniel (& Sarah his wife) ye reputed son of Silance Alin of Boston," Feb. 11, 1721.

Silence Allen appears on tax list as an inhabitant of ward 8 (TR 1) August 9, 1731; E. side Washington St at Boylston April 19, 1732 Orange St. drain (TR) April 9, 1732 liberty to take up the pavement and dig up the ground in Orange St, to carry a drain from his new cellar cross the way to a drain in his own land (TR 13 :217) Washington St.

- In 1700 he held office in the 1700 Artillery Co.; Silence was overseer of the will of Richard Gridley "Friend" 1708 and Edward Breck 1713. Active in town affairs and held town offices. 1691 appears on tax list under Holioke 8 1695
