Signa Helga "Sis" Chew, 91, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family and friends on August 1, 2007, at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
Born on March 9, 1916, in North Huntingdon, PA, she was the daughter of Mahlon Woolard and Signa Carlson. After her mother died at Sis's birth, Agnes Woolard raised her with love and care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Chew, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Robert Paul Chew, Jr. and Jane Chew; her grandsons Jason and Jen, Jonathan and Madison Rose; her granddaughter Heather and Kevin. She is also survived by her daughter Irene Barnes and her husband Doug Barnes; and her grandson J.R. and Teresa, Melissa, Joe and Joey, and Jackie; her granddaughter Kimberley and Thurman; her grandson Ron and Kim, Zachary, William and Robert. She is also survived by her daughter Cheryll Chew and her husband John Frye. She especially loved her five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
For those of you who knew Sis, you know how good it felt to be loved by her and you know for sure that she loved you. Her family is grateful to her many friends for their loving care.
