Shubael Seaver died testate, having written a will on 25 July 1755 (Vol. 2 p11). The will was proved on 14 January 1757. The will reads (Suffolk County (Massachusetts) Probate Records, Volume 52, page 64): Executors: dau. Sarah Payson, and Capt. Ebenr Dorr and Mrs. Edward Dorr. "I, Shuball Seaver, of Roxbury, cordwainer, being advanced in age, but in a comfortable measure of health and of perfect mind, &c. My Will is, that my Orchard be sold after my Decease and ye Money to be equally divided between my 3 sons and my grandsons, ye children of my dau. Abigail Hughs, dec, my said grandsons to have one single share. That my eldest son Shuball have L13.6.8 paid him in equal proportion out of the shares of my sons David & Peter and ye sons of my dau. Hughs; my wearing apparel to be divided among my three sons. Unto my dau. Sarah Payson my House in which I now dwell, and the small house, adjoining, also, my Barn and Garden and all my moveables. I also give unto her all ye Money I leave at my Decease, together with all my Bonds, Notes of Hand, Deeds &c and Rents. Funeral Charges and the Funeral Charges of my son Joseph to be paid in equall proportion among all my children, & also, if any other Debt should appear(wch I know not of any at present) it to be paid in ye same manner. Appoint my said dau. Sarah Payson, with Capt. Ebenr Dorr and Mrs. Edwd Dorr Execrs. (The husband of Sarah Payson has not lived with her for 15 or 16 years. Capt. Ebenr and Mr Edward Dorr to take into their possession for her use what her father by this will gave her). If children complain, they shall have but 10 shillings.
