Mr. Bobby Hendricks, Sr., 76, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 2:30 A.M. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville.

He was born August 22, 1932 in Hopkins County KY to the late Kent Hubert Hendricks and Fairy Edilene Forbes Hendricks. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Wagoner; one brother, Monroe Hendricks and one grandson, Dustin Nance.

He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company. He was a member of the Lone Star Pentecostal Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and former Deacon and Trustee. He also was presently serving as Honorary Board Member.

Bobby lived his life-God first and family second. He had the unique gift of making everyone’s life he touched-family. His greatest love was young people. His greatest gift was his ability to make all people who met him feel loved and accepted. To most he was Grand Bob, to others, Bobby. But to all who knew him, he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Lee Hendricks of Madisonville; two daughters, Vickie (John) Murphy of Champions Gate, FL and Tracey (Wesley) Wren of Batesville, AR; one son, Shelly (Trona) Hendricks, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Doris Marks of Madisonville, Lou Adams of Madisonville, Shirley Vandiver of Manitou, KY; one brother, David Hendricks of Manitou; six grandchildren, Cliff Nance, Landon Hendricks, Luke Hendricks, Austin Wren, Lacy Wren and Ella Hendricks and one great grandson, Evan Nance.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Lone Star Pentecostal Church in Madisonville with Minister James Thorton and Pastor Roy Duke officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville. Graveside Honor Services will be conducted by American Legion Post #6 of Madisonville, American Legion Post #2 of Earlington and VFW Post #5480 of Madisonville.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Lone Star Pentecostal Church and 1:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be William Ramsey, Richard Eagle, Frank Cail, Tom Lanham, David Adams, Doug Vandiver, Junior Sizemore and John Hancock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cliff Nance, Landon Hendricks, Luke Hendricks, Austin Wren, Ross Sizemore and Ryan Sizemore.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the church.
