Battey Council Bluffs, Iowa 1932 Page 39 Sheldon Battey, son of William and Betsey (Sheldon) Battey, born Scituate, R.I. 3 July 1783, died 12 February 1842. Arnold's Vital Records say he died and is buried Louisville, Ga. Married in Providence, by Elder James Wilson, 31 Aug. 1806, he of Scituate at this time, Roby A. Williams, of Providence, daughter of Major Thomas and Penelope Williams, born 1785, died Louisville, Ga., 16 Aug. 1822, aged 37 years; he married, 2nd, in Providence, (he now of Louisville, Ga.) by Elder James Wilson, 16 Sep. 1823, Mrs. Eliza S. Blashfield, born 1783, died in Providence, 10 Jan. 1864, aged 80 years, In 1813 he was Captain of the 4th Providence Company. In 1840 Penelope Williams, pensioner, resided in the 6th Ward, Providence, with Sheldon Battey. Have a record of one child only, born probably Louisville, Ga.
