Notice from the Goff Advance Goff, Nemaha County, Kansas, Thurs, August 14, 1924.

Death of Mrs. Frank Prawl. In the early hours of Monday morning death came quietly to Mrs. Frank Prawl at the family home in Goff. Mrs Prawl was up after midnight bet had made no complaint of being seriously ill. She had been a sufferer from heart trouble for the past five years and to apoplexy was her death attributed.

Charlotte Sherer was born June 16, 1868, at Grant City, Mo, and at the time of death was 56 years, 1 month and 25 days of age, on August 11, 1924. On December 7, 1885, she was united in marriage to Frank Prawl of Severance, Kansas, and together they located at the old Prawl home seven miles north of Goff. Seven children were born to them: Myrtle Chrystena, who died when a baby; Roy S. Prawl of Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Flora Rasmussen of Glen Rock, Wyoming, Mrs. Ollie Casto of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Effie Riley of Glen Rock, Wyoming; Mrs. Iris Johnson of Goff and Luther at home. All of the children with their families were here for the services.

Mrs. Prawl was a kind and hard working mother and there are few of the old residents of Nemaha county who do not hold a recollection of a meal at the Prawl home when on the form or the kindly welcome of this mother. It was Mothers such as Mrs. Prawl that were the mainstay of the home and the country in the day of the eighties and noneties. About eight years ago the family moved to Goff. In addition to the children there are eleven grandchildren to mourn the departure of a kindly mother.

When sisteen years of age she became a member of the Lutheran church and later changed to the United Brethren. Rev. York, U. B. pastor of Corning, was in charge of the final service, at the Methodist church in Goff Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Interment was in the family lot in Ford cemetery south of Seneca. Pallbearers were old friends of the family, August and O. E. Thieme, John Gruetze, Will J. Hailey, S. A. Chadwick and F. J. Cox. Fitting hyms were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Goodrich, Mrs. McManis and Mr. Holston, with Miss Geraldine McManis at the piano. To the husband and children we join with the community in an expression of sincere sympathy in their sorrow. Mr. Roy Prawl, Mr, Casto and Mr. Rasmussen were also here for the service. Other relatives were Mr. and Peter Prawl of Severance, Mrs. Roy Powell of Centralia, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Prawl of Oneida. Mrs. Prawl's brother, Julius Sherer and wife of Wetmore, visited in the Prawl home Wednesday.
