Seth Chitwood was married on 26 Dec 1822 in Franklin County, Missouri, to Lucinda Caldwell, b 1800 MO, a daughter of Kinkead Caldwell. He was a son of Richard Chitwood (d 1822 St Louis Co, MO). He was appointed Administrator of his father's estate because he was the only one of his siblings still living near St. Louis County...most of his siblings had moved 60 or so miles north to Ralls Co, MO by about 1819. Seth settled near the historic town of Newport and the Caldwell families on the Missouri River west of St. Louis County. There was a Chitwood Cemetery located in Dundee near there where he and his children were probably buried.
