Seth Brett, son of Nathaniel and Sarah (Hayward) Brett, born at Bridgewater, 24 February 1687/8 (VR, 1:56; MD, 3:8, 14:184); died there of small pox, 11 February 1721/2, in 34th year (VR, 2:441; MD, 14:184). Nathaniel Brett made his will on 18 January 1730/1, proved 20 May 1741, gave to his four grandsons, sons of his son Seth deceased, land to be equally divided among them; they were to pay their sister Sarah Brett £10 (Plymouth Co PR, #2,714, 8:338-41).
[Note: the recorder wrote "my four Grandsons Samuel Brett, Brett,Simeon Brett & Seth Brett, the Child of my son Seth Brett ... they pay out of it to my Grand daughter Sarah Brett their sister", i.e., they are named, but the recorder left out the name of Silas when he copied the original will. File 2714 is empty.]
