    Died this Afternoon--Passing of a Well Known and Venerable Resident

    Mrs. Serilda Benson Bishop, wife of John W. Bishop, one of Madison's well known residents, died at 2:50 o'clock this afternoon at her home at the corner or Third and Jefferson streets. Mrs. Bishop had been ill for many weeks and her death was not unexpected.

    The decedent was 74 years of age and was born and lived all her life in this city. A life long member of the Methodist church she was a noble and worthy Christian who was liked and respected by all who knew her. Besides her husband and the decedent is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Rinne and Mrs. Emma King, of this county, and a brother, Mr. R. F. Benson, of this city. No children survive.

    Funeral services will be held at Trinity church at two o'clock Monday afternoon and the burial will be in Springdale cemetery.
