Sarah Wilson is believed born November 11, 1770, per the late H. C. Bumgarner, and died 1820, Wood County, Virginia (now Wirt Co., WV), possibly daughter of Joseph Wilson and Mary (Carr) Wilson. 
She married in Harrison County, Virginia (now WV) on February 12, 1795 to Jacob Bumgarner, son of Godfrey and Gertrude (Courtwright?) Bumgardner. They were parents of five known children: Lydia Eliza, Jacob II. George, Jesse, and Joel. Census records indicate eight children, 6 males and 2 females. She is buried by her husband on the old Bumgarner farm of Jacob III, her grandson, at Mingo Bottom near Wells Lock, Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia.
