ECKERTY---Sarah Elizabeth Walls,daughter of Jeremiah and Amanda walls, was born August 1, 1866 and died December 8, 1930, aged 64 years, 4 months, and 7 days.
She married Elijah P. Brown, April 12, 1888. To this union five children were born, all of who are living.
She united with the Christian church and was baptized in 1898 at English, later placed her membership with Eckerty Christian church. She was a faithful Christian until death, and always took a great interest in church and Bible school. During her long illness of near two years of intense suffering she was always cheerful and looked on the bright side of life, and said the good Lord would take her when He thought best.
She leaves four brothers: John of New Albany, Samuel of St. Louis; Hammond of Hammond, Jerry of Mansfield, O.; three sisters: Mrs. Viola Zimmerman and Mrs. Cretia Graves, both of St. Louis, and Mrs. Isabel Steproe, of Arocla, Ill.; five children: Lawrence, Orville, and Arthur, of Eckerty; Mrs. Mamie Gilmore, of Princeton and Mrs. Phronia Ingle, of Eckerty; Also a step-daughter Mrs Daisy Miller, of English; 18 granchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Leonard Cummins, of English, was in charge of funeral services, which were held at Eckerty Wednesday of last week.
