- Sarah Carvin's Will
- In the name of God Amen, I Sarah Carvin of the County of Botetourt and State of Virginia, being old and infirm in body, but of perfect sound mind and memory, calling to mind and knowing that it is appointed onst [?] for all persons to die, do make and ordain this instrument of writing to be my last Will and testament in manner and form that is to say, first I recommend my Sole to Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Exors. hereafter named: and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life,
- I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, that is to say: first of all it is my desire that all my just Debts be paid without delay.
- I give unto Grandsone Peter Carvin, sone of Frederick Millers wife, of the State of Kentucky, who I raised, and now lives with me, the plantation whereon I now live in the said County of Botetourt on Carvins Creek, containing thirty nine acres and three quarter by Survey; together with all my Stock of every description, household and kitchen furniture, farming utintials of every description to him and his heirs forever.
- I hereby appoint my said grand sone Peter Carvin to whome I have left the whole of my Estate to, Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby notifying this and no other to by my Last Will.
- In testimony where, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 26th day of November in the year of our Lord 1823.

- At Botetourt April Court 1835
- This Instrument of writing purporting to be the Last Will and testament of Sarah Carvin Dec'd was exhibited in Court and proved by the Oath of Lucy Carvin a subscribing witness thereto, and the Court being satisfied of the hand writing of Mark Evans, another Subscribing witnesses to the said Will, the same is ordered to be recorded.
