Sarah Shepard's origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 7th June 1841 when she married John Singleton at East Stoke in Nottinghamshire. They went on to have two daughters: Mary in 1842 and Elizabeth in 1845. Sadly Sarah died either giving birth to Elizabeth or shortly afterwards; Elizabeth was baptised on 5th February 1845 and Sarah was buried two days later. She was said to be 24 years old.
