OBITUARY
Sarah Jane Shannon, daughter of John and Margaret Shannon, was born near Harrisburg, Pa., Jusly 28, 1840. At the age of seventeen she with her parents moved to Bucyrus, Ohio. She was there married to Joseph John Farrington, March 19, 1861. To this union were born eight children, six of which are still living. One son dying in infancy and one in young manhood. Her companion departed this life December 20, 1902.
The last forty-five years of her life have been spent in and near Cardington, surrounded by children and friends, who have tried to do what they could to cheer and comfort her declining years, the last three years of which were full of suffering. She bore her suffering patiently and was waiting and anxious for the summons home.
She departed this life Sunday morning August 7, 1921, at the age of 81 years and 9 days, leaving six children, eighteen grand children and thirteen great grand children to mourn her loss.
Having been reared in a home where Christ was king supreme, she acquired those elements of character which make a beautiful life. She was a quiet happy nature, but a woman full of faith and trusted God to the last. The sorrowing children follow with faith in the same Christ. She was a member of the Rebecca lodge and the W.C.T.U. and a life-long member of the church.
