Marion Watt has: In an obituary for Sarah Schmell McClain," Married .........Stiles, one girl born to that marriage." 1880 Census NORTHWEST TOWNSHIP WILLIAMS COUNTY, OHIO: McLain, Sarah, white female 24 yrs. born in Ohio, housekeeper, parent s born in Germany. Cora, white female 3 yrs. Georgia, white, male , 1yr, son. This "Georgia" is our George, also listed in this census is William McLain, 56 , and Hester McLain, James, and Ruth." OBITUARY CLIPPING, IN THE EFFECTS OF WARREN MCLAIN: SARAH SMELL STILES; Sarah Smell, the second daughter of Christian and Catherine Smell, was born in Williams county, Ohio; January 14, 1856 and passed away at the home of her son in Hillsdale, May 20, 1923, aged 67 years. She was married to Washington McLain in 1875. To this union were born three children one of them passing away in infancy . The husband passed to the Beyond in 1879.
