- ↑ Source:Ingalsbe, Frederick W. Ingoldsby Genealogy : Ingoldsby, Ingalsbe, Inglesby, and Engelsby, from the 13th Century to 1904, p. 12, lists among "probable issue" of Ebenezer Ingoldsby, "Sarah, m. John Perry, July 27, 1707". No explanation or details are given, but this is shown to be incorrect by two deeds cited below.
Instead John Perry married Sarah, nee Robinson, the widow of John Ingoldsby. Now here, the Ingoldsby Genealogy clearly demonstrates its confusion. On p. 13, it lists John-15 twice: once marrying 4 May 1704 Sarah Robinson and d. in in 1706; once marrying 4 May 1704 Sarah Robinson, estate administered in 1740. The first is correct, and his widow married John Perry. The man whose estate was administered in 1739/40 left a widow Bethiah (Durham) and 3 small children (typically children's expenses were charged to the father's estate if they were under 7, the age at which they could be apprenticed out to someone else. See Suffolk Probate 7416).
