Thomas Brenton Smith suggests that Sarah "Sally" Roberts may have been related to John Roberts, carpenter, of Liverpool. He quotes Robert Long in his Annals of Liverpool and Queens' County as explicitly stating that she is his daughter. Smith further speculates that John Roberts, carpenter, could have been a Loyalist from Shelburne.
Of further interest is a record (transcribed, beware the caveat "all entries should be checked against original documents for accuracy") of the birth of a 'Sarah Roberts' on the 21st of September 1802, baptised April 12, 1805, to 'John and Abigail,' recorded at the Methodist Church of Liverpool, Nova Scotia.*
