obit of sarah dickerson from the july 1848 nashville advocate. it reads sarah dickerson, daughter of joseph and hannah rakestraw, wife of samuel dickerson, born in virginia 1808, died may 6, 1848 pneumaonia. all of the family trees that i have seen for sarah and samuel have her dying in 1829 and her parents as john rakestraw and sally kimble. i am descended from samuel dickison (also spelled erson, enson, or inson) and sarah elizabeth rakestraw. my samuel was from licking county ohio. licking county is next to muskingum county where a samuel dickerson married a sarah rakestraw mar 2, 1826. my great grandfather was born to sarah and samuel in 1834, so this must be the sarah from the obit, because in the 1850 henry co. mo. census samuel was not married.
