Cal Owen lists her second husband as John R., rath er than John N. Flandreau, but I think it's simply a transcripti on error. LDS IGI Index has the marriage of John N. Flandreau, in Westches ter County, to Sarah Jane Purdy. Source 1985309. J. N. Flandreau married Sarah J. Florence on 16 November 1859, a ccording to the index for the December 14, 1859 issue of the Sac ramento Bee. Were they in California? She's mentioned in Pamelia Flandreau's will of 1860 as one of he r heirs, along with her husband, John N. Flandreau. She had n o children according to that record. 1870 census of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York, page 33 : dwelling 188, Family 199 Flandreau, John, 48, Male, White, Carpenter, born in New York, m ale citizen 21 or over "", Sarah J., 40, Female, White, born in New York Gray, H, 40, Male, White, Clergyman, born in Massachusetts, mal e citizen 21 or over The ages aren't a great fit, but the time and place makes sense. Ted Flandreau provided a photocopy of what appear to be notes o f dates from tombstones, but without notation as to which cemete ry. None the less, the dates and marriage fit: John N. Flandreau, 15 Dec. 1819 - 3 July 1879 Sarah J. Flandreau, his wife, 14 Oct 1827 - 3 July 1876 The date of decree of her own will was 9 July 1876. Her paper s indicate that she was the daughter of William Henry Purdy an d that she left no children. References
