Sarah E. O'Dell, daughter of Joseph and Louisa O'Dell, was born September 29, 1877 and departed this life August 19, 1958 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 20 days.
She was married to Dora S. Tolliver, June 14, 1899, and to this union were born six children. One daughter, Floy preceding her in death in 1918.
With her husband, Dora, she made her home in Hoosier township, except for a short time in Gary, Indiana. Their home was one where Christian influence was taught and shared as they brought up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. A home, where friends and neighbors could find help and comfort in time of need.
During a meeting in December 1890, Sister Tolliver made a profession of faith and was baptized into the membership of the Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church. Later she realized she didn't relly know Jesus as her personal Saviour as the Bible taught. Seeking diligently in God's Word and through prayer, she came to know Him in full assurance of His Eternal Salvation, followed His command in submitting to the Baptism taught in His Word, and continued as a true and faithful member of the Church.
Of her immediate family, she leaves her devoted husband, Dora S.: five children, Mrs. Flo Baugh of West Union, Ill, Russell H. of Louisvile, Mrs. Pearl Crouse of Louisville, Raymond of Gary, Indiana and Robert Dale of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Etta Sullivan of Nashville, Tenn: six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Many are the friends and neighbors who will long remember her ready cheer and willingness to help. A precious one from us is gone. A voice we love is stilled. Aplace is vacant in out home, which never can be filled.
