"Sarah, b. Nov. 2. 1699; m. at Marlborough, Jan. 4. 1740-41, 'John Taint of Southborough'. Her mother's will shows this. They are cited to appear when the will was allowed. She is appointed executrix by the will. See above [will abstracted on p. 65: "John Tant of Southborough and Sarah his wife" cited to appear]. I found no further record of either of them. It has been accepted, and repeated in print, that this Sarah was the wife of Pelatiah Rice [For example, Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, p. 422, and then on p. 424, shows Person:Sarah Newton (64) marrying John Taint; also Source:Edmund Rice (1638) Association.]; which is an error—in the light of the will of the widow of Zachariah Newton."
