Sarah Moles was baptised on 11th January 1784 at Stotfold in Bedfordshire, daughter of Mary Moles, formerly Langham, and her husband Thomas Moles, a labourer. When Sarah was eight years old her mother died. Her father remarried when Sarah was ten years old, although Sarah's stepmother Mary Horsley died when Sarah was 16.

When Sarah was 24 years old she married a William Rowley, who was also from Stotfold. Four months later, they had a daughter, Ann, baptised at Stotfold. Two years later, they had another daughter, Elizabeth.

Just six months after Elizabeth's baptism, Sarah died, being buried on 26th Jun 1811 at Stotfold, where she had lived her whole life. She was only 27 years old when she died. William survived her by nearly 25 years.
