Sarah can be found in the following census: 1870 Dist #5 Allegany, MD Federal Census 1880 Johnsons, Garrett, MD Federal Census SARAH AGNES BLOCHER Mrs. Sarah Agnes Blocher, widow of the late Albert Blocher, died in the Torrance State Hospital on February 22, just one day before her 81st birthday. The cause of her death was pulmonary sclerosis. Mrs. Blocher had been living in the hospital since about a year after the death of her husband in 1944. She was born on February 23, 1867, in Garrett County, Md., a daughter of Samuel G. and Katherine (Beal) Meese, and was one of a family of 16 children, of whom only one now remains. She was married to Albert Blocher on January 17, 1886, and enjoyed 58 years of wedded life with him until his passing in 1944. She was a member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren for more than 60 years. Meyersdale Republican, February 26, 1948 |
