In Carlton, Tama Co., Iowa, April 18th, 1868, at her father-in-law's, of consumption, Mrs. Sarah Davis, wife of E. F. Davis, in her 25th year. She made a profession of religion in the winter of 1863, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Jackson Center, Ohio. In the summer of 1864, she, with her husband, removed to Carlton, Tama Co., Iowa, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Carlton. She sustained a good Christian character - a faithful and beloved sister in Christ. As she drew near the closing scenes of her life her mind was calm and peaceful. She made the arrangements for her funeral procession. Death seemed to have no terror; she spoke of it as a person going on a visit to see her friends. She left a husband, two children, and a large circle of friends to mourn, but not as those who have no hope. M. B.
