Mrs. Sarah A. Park
Died at her residence in Waterville, Kansas, on. Sunday, February 1, 1914, at 7:30 P.M., aged 77 years 11 months and 29 days.
Mrs. Sarah A. (Grundy) Park was born in England February 2, 1836, and with her parents came to America when she was nine years old, locating in the state of Ohio.
May 25, 1856, she was married to William C. Park and after living in Ohio a number of years they came to Kansas.
She leaves nine children to mourn her death: five sons: William L., James W. of Waterville, John G., of Greenleaf, George G., of Solomon, Kans., and Henry L. of Frazee, Minnesota; and four daughters: Mrs. Irene Miller, of Ohio; Mrs. Sarah E. Giles and Miss Mary A. Park, of Waterville; Mrs. Hattie E. Pearson, of Clyde Kans.. She is also survived by one brother and one sister in Fremont, Ohio.
Early in life she united with the Methodist church and in 1877 she transferred her membership to the Lutheran church in Waterville. While she has suffered many afflictions, and in the last few years of her life could not read the word of God, yet she treasured in her memory many beautiful passages of scripture which were a great comfort in her affliction.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the Lutheran church, the sermon being preached by Rev, J. C. Ferster, the pastor, after which the remains were interred in Riverside cemetery.
