17 Jan 1924, p? - Obituary. Sarah Crull Falls, daughter of Michael and Eliza Crull, the thirteenth child in a family of fourteen children, and the tenth of this number to depart this life, was born in Wayne County, Ind., November 19, 1853, and died on January 8, 1924, being 70 years, 1 month and 19 days of age. On Christmas day, 1873, she was united in marriage to Issac N. Falls, to which happy union were born three children, two daughters and one son, all of whom survive her. They are: Mrs. Alta Rummel, of New Castle, Ind.; Mrs. Glenn Beeson, of Cambridge City, and Curtis, who makes his home with his parents. Mrs. Falls' husband, to whom she has been a faithful and devoted companion, also survives, and this happy couple have lived together in the divine bonds of matrimony for a few days more than half a century. Only last Christmas was their golden wedding celebrated. And this was not an ordinary celebration. It was a spontaneous expression of good-will and neighborly affection voluntarily extended by a very wide circle of friends and neighbors who loved them and were happy to see them arrive at the fiftieth mile stone of their happy wedded life. Very early in life she professed faith in Christ and joined the United Brethren Church, which was then located on the Old Trail between Germantown and Centerville, but which has long since been abandoned. In 1887 she with her husband, having previously moved to Germantown, placed her membership with the Evangelical Association of that community. But about thirty years ago they removed to Cambridge City, and she placed her membership with the First Methodist Episcopal church of this city. She was a member of the Social Union, and a faithful and devoted follower of the Lord. In 1893 she became a member of the Rebekahs. Mrs. Falls has been one of those quiet, unassuming, kindly women, who makes friends and holds them. In recent years she suffered much, but seldom ever complained, and the people generally did not know of the pain which she quietly endured. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters, William and Jacob Crull, of Pinhook; Mrs. Rose Anna Rush, of Richmond, and Mrs. Eliza Hosier, of Pershing. She is survived by one son-in-law, Mr. Glenn Beeson, of Cambridge City; one granddaughter, Mrs. Rodger Canaday [sic - should be Roger Kennedy], of Carthage, Ind., and her husband. And Miss Jennie McGrew, who has been in such close touch with the family for the last several years that she seems as one of the household, and many other relatives and a very wide circle of friends to mourn her departure.
