Newspaper Clipping: Mrs. Virginia Hall was 84(5) years old Wednesday, June 10 (1925) Several of her children from different parts of country were here to help celebrate it Mrs. Virginia Hall, one of the oldest and best known citizens of this county was eighty-four (sic - 85) years old Wednesday and a celebration was held at her home east of the city in her honor. Several of her children from a distance were present on this occasion and it was one of the pleasant milestones in the life of this estimable lady. Those who were present were James Hall, of Joplin, who left this place twenty-seven years ago and has traveled almost around the world during that time. Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. (Preston) Hall of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mrs. D. C. Flannagan (sic) of Unionville, Mo., Mrs. H. W. LaRue of Fresno, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Roberts of Monticello. The children who could not be there were John, who lives in California, Mrs. C. R. Ammerman of Colorado Springs, Colo., and J. D. Hall of California. Mrs. Hall is one of the pioneers of this county and is widely known and eminently respected. Friends will be glad to know that she is enjoying good health and that she is able to get about her home and enjoy life to its utmost. She has to have the aid of a can (sic) to get around but she says that she feels that she is in fine condition for one of her years. A fine dinner had been prepared by her daughter, Miss Virginia, with the help of her sisters and it consisted of fied (sic) chicken and all of the other good things of the summer season. It was probably the happiest family gathering for Mrs. Hall that she has had in many years. It had been a long time since so many of the family were together at one time and it is very much regretted that the others could not have been present to celebrate with them.
