Lines written in Memory of Sarah R. Bugh by her Aunt Mary E. Gillings of Rapids, Niagara Co., New York. You have lain to rest in the last long sleep This very dear one; her life was not long; But she crossed the great River, tho' the waters were deep And joins in the chorus of the heavenly song. Tho' cruel it seems to garner the sheaves, When a par of the harvest is in the bloom, Our heavenly Father knows best when he leaves A portion to gather at morning or noon. Al tho' she was gathered in the morning of life We know not how soon we may fall in the strife And like her bid adieu to those we must leave The home she has left will be lonely and drear For a Father and Mother have lost a dear one And a loving sister will grieve, While a brother will morn her departure at now. |
