  2. Source:Arlington, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States. Vital Records to the Year 1850, p. 158 has a death record of "w. Ed[ward]" on 20 Jan 1748-9, but as it lists the death of three Edwards, in 1763, 1768 and 1773, it is far from clear who it applies to. It is marked PR, indicating it was collected by Rev. Samuel Cooke, not the town clerk, and he is also the source for the deaths of the three Edwards. Meanwhile, Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its Settlement to 1868, p. 766, says Sarah d. 24 Mar 1749 based on an "Arlington Record" but whatever record it was, it does not match anything printed in the published VRs. It is not known if this a different interpretation of the record kept by Rev. Cooke, or it is a different record.
