SARAH CATHARINE BOWMAN was born on March 8, 1856 in Nodaway County, Missouri.
Sarah was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

Obituary
Sarah Catharine Bowman was born March 8«sup»th«/sup» 1856 in Nodaway County, Missouri. She was converted early in life and united with the Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful and consistent member until her death.
Her first marriage was to James W Rector November 3«sup»rd«/sup» 1872. To this union was born thirteen children, ten boys of whom five are still living and three girls. After the death of her first husband she was married to J. D. Rector April 13«sup»th«/sup», 1917. She died December 26«sup»th«/sup» 1931 at the age 65 years, 9 months and 18 days.
She was a Christian of the purest and most beautiful type. Her life was a benediction to their family and friends. In her death a great loss been sustained by her family, by her circle of friends, by her church, to which she was deeply devoted, as well as by the community in which she was an active influence for good.
Rev. J. H. Hennan Pastor of the Methodist Church at Milford, Missouri, preached her funeral at the Round Prairie Church where she was laid away in rest, using for his text 1 Samuel 20:3 "There is but a step between me and death."
