    Sara L. Fulton, 99, of Washington, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

    She was born April 5, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Elsie M. Wilson Shrontz.

    Mrs. Fulton was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church, Washington, where she served as a deaconess, was a member of Ruth Class and Ladies Circle of Concern and was an assistant for Guild Girls.

    She was a 1935 graduate of Trinity High School and worked for Washington School District for 30 years, retiring as head cook.

    Mrs. Fulton enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, her family and her favorite cats, Snowball and Bibby.

    On June 9, 1939, in Washington, she married Herschel Brontz Fulton, who died November 7, 1963.

    Surviving are a daughter, Sally (Daniel) Comstock of Washington; six grandchildren, Brent (Paula) and Brian (Lori) Fulton and Laura (Jeff) Nedley and Rob (Kari Beth) Fulton, Rebecca (Matt) Griffin and Michelle (Tim) Wendell; five great-grandchildren, Natalie and Jeffrey Nedley, Ryan and Aaron Fulton and Brontz Griffin; several nieces and nephews; and two daughters-in-law, JoAnna and Janice Fulton.

    Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sons, Arthur S. and Robert J. Fulton; a sister, Virginia Bebout; and a brother who died in infancy.

    Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, with Pastor Steve Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
