Recorded as a farmer, aged 30, born at North Lopham) 2) Living near Castleacre Road, Great Dunham. Married but wife missing from household - daughter and two servants. Farmer of 100 acres employing 2 labourers and 1 boy. Recorded as aged 30, born at Ringstead.

1853 - Widower when he married Mary Ann Crisp. Living in Ringstead.

1879 - Farmer of Great Dunham - granted probate, with two brothers, for the estate of his father.

1881 - With wife Sarah and two sons, in Great Dunham. Farmer of 454 acres, employing 11 men, 3 boys and 2 women.

1891 - Living in Newton Road, Great Dunham with wife and two servants (dairy maid and house maid). Farmer employing others. Aged 70, born at North Lopham.

1895 - Samuel Porter WHARTON of Shipdham Norfolk retired farmer died 20-10-1895. Probate Norwich 06-12-1895 to Thomas William Wharton and Frederick Samuel Wharton farmers and John William Page bank manager. Effects £1554/13/11d.
