Deaths -- in Danville, at the residence of his son-in-law, S.J. Yail [sic] Esq., Dec. 18, Hon. Samuel Sias. He was born Dec. 23, 1775, consequently lacking but five days of being 82 years of age. His death was sudden, caused, it is supposed by disease of the heart. He retired to rest in usual health, and family found him dead in his bed around 4 o' clock on the morning of the 18th. Judge Sias had been a prominent and influencial member of the Congregation Church for about 40 years, and contributed liberally of his pecuniary means which were ample, to religious and charitable purposes. He was one of the first settlers in this town, his father, Capt. Charles Sias, and family, having removed into Danville in March 1784, when the town was almost an unbroken wilderness - Star [Northern Star]
