His Civil War Veteran Burial Record (CWVBR) indicates Samuel Sherbine, aka Schierbine, was interred at the same cemetery as his wife- Rosanna and son - George W. Sherbine. Samuel's Civil War Draft Registration indicates his middle initial was also "L", the same as his son - Samuel Lewis Sherbine. The unit Samuel served in is the same one referenced on multiple Civil War documents, making it highly unlikely this is a different Samuel Sherbine. On Samuel's CWVBR, his birth year is 1830, possibly an error/misstatement by a relative or other since some of his census enumerations indicate he may have been born a few years earlier. Possibly the informant relied upon, was not sure of Samuel's birth date/year and made an educated guess as the same birth year as his wife Rosanna. The death *year* on Samuel's CWVBR is hard to read without the original document, but looks like it could be 1894, the same year Rosanna applied for her widower's Civil War death benefit pension, a month after Samuel died.
