    I, SAMUEL SCRIBNER of Hoosick in the County of Rensselaer and State of New York, being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following that is to say

    First I give and bequeath unto my wife LYDIA SCRIBNER one good horse, saddle and bridle and two cows and eight sheep, and two hogs and all my household stuff and furniture and all my provisions both meat and grain and all my grain on the ground and all my money and notes and obligations for money and my cooking stove (provided) that if I should outlive my wife Lydia Scribner then and in such case my will and desire is that all the above named articles should go to the heirs or representatives of the said Lydia Scribner. I also give unto her the said Lydia Scribner the use of the whole of my dwelling house during her lifetime.

    I also give and bequeath unto my son JOHN SCRIBNER over and above the sum that I have given him in my lifetime the sum of two dollars and a certain note which he the said John signed to JIRAH BAKER which said note I paid and took up.

    I also give and bequeath unto my son ANDREW SCRIBNER over and above the sum that I have given him in my lifetime the sum of two dollars.

    I also give unto my daughter MERIBAH CASE the wife of AARON CASE JUNIOR the sum of ten dollars.

    I also give as a bequeath unto the two children of my daughter JANE TAFT deceased the sum of five dollars each.

    I also give and bequeath unto my son REUBEN SCRIBNER one wagon, one sleigh, one drag, my best plough, one [--?--] of pine, one gun and accoutrements and my best set of horse harness

    and as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal I will and devise the same unto my son REUBEN SCRIBNER and my daughter SUSANNA CHAPMAN, the wife of STEPHEN R. CHAPMAN, and to their heirs and assigns forever to be equally divided between them.

    And lastly I hereby appoint my wife LYDIA SCRIBNER and JIRAH BAKER Executrix and Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made ratifying this and this only to be my last will and testament.

    In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the second of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty.
