Samuel Rust, son of Henry, baptized in Hingham, 5 Aug 1638 --- Samuel Rust served in King Phillip’s War (based on information in the NEHGS) In a Memorial, 15 April 1676 “Samuel Rust sets forth that he has been in King Phillip’s War under Capt. Sill for nine months and asks for his wages, said he had a wife and family.” (MA Archives, vol. Lxviii, p. 97) --- p. 6 – (See also Suffolk County, MA, Record of Deeds, Vol. 13, 1683-1686; LDS #0493936, esp. p. 264 & ff) To all Christian People to whom this present deed of Sale Shal come Henry Rust of Boston with the county of Suffolk & Colony of the Massachusetts Bay in New England Glover sends greeting. . . . And further whereas I have formerly given a double portion of my Estate unto my oldest son Samuel Rust dec’d I do by virtue of these presents utterly exclude and debar his wife & two children, namely Elizabeth Rust & Samuel Rust from having or claiming any right title or Interest of in & to the premises or any part thereof . . . . SAMUEL, Boston, a soldier under capt. Sill in Philip's war, in a memor. 15 Apr. 1676, ask. for his wages, says he had serv. 9 mos. had a w. and fam. but the name is not found in the rec. of B. and perhaps he lost his life in the war.
