Research Notes for Bio
- Family lived for at least 6yrs in a cottage on the large farm of Ohio Gov. Duncan McArthur (probably in Chillicothe, Ross county, Ohio) where they farmed the land for him. During this time, six of their children were born.
- Son Allen served in Civil War, 130th Infantry, Indiana

"Samuel Roberts came in the spring of 1841. He bought of Robert Wade, who had entered the land, 80 ac in Sec 15, 2mi nw of Redkey. He paid $350 for the land. Daniel B Sutton, who was a son-in-law of Mr. Roberts, settled on the south end of the same farm in 1845."
