The birth record in the family Bible is published in Salem VRs, but is presumed to carry no information about actual birth location. The History of Richmond says the father John came from Salem to Richmond about 1778. A deed in Cheshire County Vol. 19, p. 419 dated 9 Oct 1778, shows Henry Ingalls selling to "John Pickering of Richmond". So the birth is presumed to have happened in Richmond.
